Join us as we celebrate the opening of Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones. Hat designer Marie Galvin chooses and then styles hats for audience volunteers, Stephen Jones discusses his art and creative vision and hat designer Orlando Palacios from Worth & Worth, NYC, illustrates how the right hat can infuse any man's outfit with vibrancy and stability.

Hats and hair accessories have always been a part of milliner Marie Galvin's vision of the perfect ensemble. "My mission is to create unique handcrafted headwear, providing multiple expressions for the women who wear them." Galvin, of GALVIN-ized Hats, Boston, shows you how to choose the right hat, and style it to complement your face.

Explore the world of millinery with Stephen Jones, one of the fashion world's foremost milliners, Oriole Cullen, curator of modern textiles and fashion at London's Victoria and Albert Museum and Lynda Hartigan, The James B. and Mary Lou Hawkes Chief Curator at PEM. This panel of experts discusses the cultural, historic and decorative properties of the hat, as well as the creation of the exhibition Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones.
Stephen Jones's work is represented in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert museum, the Louvre, The Fashion Institute of Technology, the Brooklyn Museum, the Kyoto Costume Institute and the Australian National Gallery. His beguiling hats routinely grace magazine covers and enliven window displays of the most stylish stores.

Orlando Palacios has spent the last 20 years designing and manufacturing handcrafted hats for fashion designers, celebrities, Broadway shows and stylish people from around the world. As the owner and head designer of the venerable New York haberdashery, Worth & Worth, he has grown to be the go-to lid-crafter for musicians ranging from Keith Richards to Elvis Costello and Beyoncé. At PEM, Palacios discusses design and the fashion - traditional and contemporary - of wearing men's hats.
